Client Spotlight: Pizza Science

A fast moving serial entrepreneur, Bruno has called on me for logos, menus, t-shirts, and more. It’s always exciting to see what he’s up to next, because you know it’s going to taste good!

Pizza Science Original Website

Early Web Design

I cut my teeth on this 2013 Website. Our developer did a phenomenal job developing it into what we envisioned, despite the headaches this rookie website designer handed him.

There were a lot of firsts here. This website sported cutting edge capabilities for the time, which we take for granted now—a sticky header, a logo that overlapped an animated slider, and icons that pleasantly bounced when moused over. I’m still proud of this one even though it’s since been replaced.

Logo Design

Bruno is a voracious creative. He’s always coming up with new ideas. Every project is an adventure, and if you’re ever in town, don’t miss the chance to drop in and eat the best food ever.

Symbolism on a Box

This pizza box tilted on its side has sporty stripes on it—because so many pizzas are ordered during game time. The crown, because Bruno is the pizza king, is designed after the lines of an Italian castle. A self-ascribed culinary nerd, Bruno has traveled to Italy to harvest yeast off of wild plants in the fields of Italy and won international pizza competitions in the country his family once called home.

Recruiting New Designers

Nik Williams is so talented, and I knew his masculine vibe would be perfect for this project.

All Under One Roof

After struggling with this design for a while, I went to my room to pray over it. I do that sometimes when I’m stuck. What came to me there was that yes, people came to the restaurant to eat good food; but they also come to be with each other. The true value of a restaurant is in the time people spend together under its roof while they enjoy an amazing meal. the upper line of this logo (flipped again onto the bottom) is the roof line of the restaurant—and “Amore” is is in the building.

Menus, Menus, Menus

Call me a design nerd, but I love designing menus. The spacing between lines is a special kind of puzzle, and InDesign handles it so well. My all time favorite, though, is the viewfinder menu in the middle. Uber cute for kids!!
